China Donates Computers to Zambia
The Chinese embassy in Zambia has donated 20 sets of computers and printers to Zambia Immigration Department to help it computerize information processing system.

Home Affairs Minister Ronnie Shikapwasha said Friday at the hand-over ceremony, the donation is very timely and will provide for an effective management information system for easy retrieval of information and provision of quality service delivery.
Shikapwasha thanked the Chinese embassy for its good gesture and pledged to make good use of these donating equipment.
Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Peng Keyu said the Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Home Affairs has played a crucial role in ensuring the Chinese citizens to come, invest and work in Zambia.
Peng said the Chinese embassy has always instructed all Chinesepeople here in Zambia to abide by laws and regulation of Zambia, to run their business legally and live in harmony with local people.
He hoped the Immigration Department can provide more facilitiesfor the Chinese people to enter into Zambia.
Ambassador believed through joint efforts of the Chinese embassy and the Department of Immigration, the Chinese people herewill make greater contributions to the development of Zambia.
Due to lack of funds, the Zambia Immigration Department has to manually process vast amounts of data pertaining to foreign nationals entering and going out of Zambia as well as those staying in Zambia.
