Beijing Six-party Talks Beneficial: Chinese FM, Powell

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and US Secretary of State Colin Powell exchanged views over phone Friday evening on the just-concluded Beijing six-party talks.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Friday evening exchanged views over the phone with US Secretary of State Colin Powell on the just-concluded Beijing six-party talks.

The two sides shared the view that the talks were beneficial, agreeing that the process should continue, so as to promote a peaceful resolution to the Korean nuclear issue through dialogue.

They also exchanged views on the Iraq situation.

The talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic ofKorea (DPRK), the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Russia and Japan, began Wednesday morning and lasted three days.
