Chinese State Councilor Says Six-party Talks 'Beneficial'

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said in Beijing Friday that the just-concluded six-party talks are "beneficial," and the parties' efforts have laid a basis for the continuation of the talks process.

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said in Beijing Friday that the just-concluded six-party talks are "beneficial," and the parties' efforts have laid a basis for the continuation of the talks process.

He said resolving the nuclear issue is a complicated and difficult process, which requires political determination and diplomatic wisdom, as well as a high degree of sense and patience.

Tang made the remark while meeting with delegates to the talks on the Korean nuclear issue at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse Friday noon.

The talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan,began Wednesday morning and concluded Friday.
