Pre-researches Kicked off for Future Mars Exploration
According to the hot news out from National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Mars pre-study project entitled the "comparison study on the ion environment in the magnetic field of the Mars and that on the Earth" has been approved and started.
The Earth and the Mars passed at a distance of 55,760,000 km, the closest distance than that at any other time during the last 60,000 years, and a new fervency for "Mars Craze" has been up around the world. According to the hot news out from National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Mars pre-study project entitled the "comparison study on the ion environment in the magnetic field of the Mars and that on the Earth" has been approved and started.
Although due to some reason or other as the comprehensive national strength, China hasn't so far filed the special research for Mars exploration, said Li Jing, a researcher with the National Astronomical Observatory under the Chinese Academy of Science. Many Chinese scientists have already been carrying out the relevant pre-study in preliminary theory as an initial preparation for China's Mars exploration project.
According to the optimistic estimation of Researcher Li, human beings are expected to land on the Mars within 10 years under the present circumstances. However, he points out that the space stations around the Mars must be set up prior to the flying to Mars, as it will take about a half year to reach the Mars. So, the manned aircrafts can be maintained and refueled on the way, and can also be rescued in time if accidents happen.
