S.Korean Delegation Heads for Beijing for Multilateral Talks

The South Korean delegation to the Beijing six-party talks aiming to solve the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) departed Monday for the Chinese capital.

The South Korean delegation to the Beijing six-party talks aiming to solve the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) departed Monday for the Chinese capital.

The delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Soo-hyuck, left Incheon International Airport Monday afternoon, according to South Korean Yonhap News Agency.

Among its 19 delegates, ten are the officials from the South Korean Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Unification, Ministry of Defense and National Security Council. The other nine are supporting personnel, the agency said.

The six-nation talks will be held on Aug. 27-29 in Beijing. The other participants are the United States, the DPRK, China, Russia and Japan.
