Chinese Ouyang Wins Men's 200m Backstroke at Universiade
Ouyang Kunpeng clinchedthe second Universiade swimming gold for China Sunday with his winin men's 200m backstroke event.

Ouyang charged to victory in one minute 59.17 seconds, beating the old Universiade record by 0.59 seconds.

Japanese Nakano Takashi, who placed first in the heats, took silver in 2:01.60 while Christian De Jong of the United States came third in 2:01.60.

"I did not expect the gold," said Ouyang, who was a semifinalist at the Barcelona World Championships last month. "I am really happy with my first Universiade gold. You know I did notdo regular training after the world championships, so it is a little surprise for me."

"In addition, I wanted to thank my teammates for their encouragement and support."

Luo Xuejuan bagged another gold in the women's 50m breaststrokefor China earlier this evening.
