The situation for Qiu Lisheng was not critical but he needed further medical observation, said doctors at No. 1 Hospital affiliated to Suzhou University, where the patients were treated.
A probable food poisoning outbreak struck a construction site in Suzhou Industrial Park Saturday morning, sickening dozens of constructions workers who had suffered from symptoms like stomachache, diarrhea and vomiting.
A total of 269 people were examined on Saturday but only 26 were confirmed as suffering food poisoning, said Wang Yu, directorof Suzhou City Supervision Station of Hygiene.
Local health departments' preliminary investigation focused on about 100 meat burgers in the construction site canteen.
A series of food poisonings were reported in August in China's cities like western Chongqing Municipality, Changsha, Tianjin and Suzhou, sickening a total of 113 people.
