A senior leader of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas blasted on Saturday the Palestinian Information Minister Nabil Amer for insisting to take measures against Hamas and Islamic Jihad (Holy War).
Abdul Aziz Al-Rantisi told reporters that Amer wants to exclude himself from those who attended the funeral of Isma'eel Abu Shanab, adding that Amer should immediately stop talking about carrying out measures against Hamas.
Abu Shanab, a senior Hamas leader, was killed in Gaza City on Thursday when Israeli helicopter gunships fired three missiles at his car.
Rantisi denied reports that Hamas accepted the calls for not to react to the assassination of its senior leader Abu Shanab in exchange for an Israeli cessation to stop assassinating Hamas leaders.
"The Zionist side can continue its assassination as it wants, but we will also continue our resistance of the occupation and of course we would react to the horrible crime that targeted Abu Shanab and his bodyguards," he said.
The Hamas leader warned Israel that "from now and further it would never enjoy security, and would never feel it, and we would never let this enemy enjoys settlement and peace on our land."
He said that the Israelis decided to continue killing because they did not want "any settlement or peace for the Palestinians," adding "if they want to do so, what they expect from the Palestinian side?"
On Friday, after the huge funeral of Abu Shanab, Rantisi announced that Hamas had formed a new underground political leadership ready to replace the current political leadership in case Israel assassinates all the known leaders of the movement.
In response to US President George W. Bush's statements on Friday that the United States decided to freeze deposit of six Hamas leaders and five Islamic groups accused of financially supporting Hamas, Rantisi said "Bush's statements are just a declaration of war against Islam."
"Bush is a great Zionist," said Rantisi, who accused the US administration of "stealing the money of the Muslims," adding the day when the United States pays a heavy price for its crimes against Muslims is coming."
