According to eyewitnesses, three bodies were recovered in the white Volkswagen Golf sedan, which caught fire after the missile attack.
Large plumes of smoke could be seen from a long distance.
Firefighters rushed to the scene to put off the fire.
The explosions went off in the Rimal neighborhood, about 300 meters from the local UN headquarters.
On Tuesday afternoon, a Palestinian militant blew himself up ona bus packed with ultra-Orthodox Jews returning from the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.
Both Hamas and Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack, in which 20 people, including children, were killed and about 100 others were wounded.
