China, S.Korea can Cooperate in Technology
China and South Korea can strengthen cooperation in technology, stressed visiting Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Ministry Wei Jianguo Wednesday in Seoul.
China and South Korea can strengthen cooperation in technology, stressed visiting Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Ministry Wei Jianguo Wednesday in Seoul.
"China and South Korean have distinguished technology in various fields, so they can be mutually complementary," said Wei in a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday.
He cited that China has world leading technology in aeronautics,Internet video frequency, engine parts production, read-write CD, bio-chemistry and nano fields, while South Korea has first class technology in auto production, ship building and CDMA handphone.
"So, China and South Korea can learn from each other's strengths to offset their weaknesses," said Wei.
According to the Chinese official, since 1978, China has attracted some 500 billion US dollars foreign direct investment (FDI), and a total of 410,000 foreign companies now have business in China. Among the world 500 top companies, 65 built their regional headquarters in Shanghai and Beijing.
"The Chinese government's policy of attracting FDI will continue, and will encourage foreign investors not only to invest in eastern China, but also in the western part of China," said Wei.
The Chinese official came to Seoul to attend a two-day Chinese-South Korea Technology Show which opened on Wednesday The show attracted 39 Chinese companies and some 300 South Korean enterprises.
