Chinese Vice-president Offers Condolences to Flood Victims
Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong Tuesday concluded his five-day inspection tour of flood-hit areas and former revolutionary bases in east China's Anhui Province, calling on local governments to spare no efforts to help the flood victims.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the central government, Zeng visited rural families and make-shift living quarters for flood victims, and inspected farmland and reservoirs in several counties in the province, whereabout one million residents had to be evacuated to safe areas because of floods this summer.
During his tour, Zeng called on local Party committees to spare no efforts to minimize the losses suffered by flood victims and ensure that they have no problems with their basic life, and make sure that middle and primary schools in the flood-hit areas begin their new school year on time in September.
Zeng also called on localities to rehouse flood victims beforethe coming winter.
The vice-president also visited veteran revolutionaries, including Red Army soldiers, in Jinzhai County in the Dabie Mountains area.
