No Death Toll Reported in Tibetan Earthquake

No casualties have been reported in Monday's earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale in Medog County of the Tibet Autonomous Region, despite 13 aftershocks, a county government official said Tuesday.

No casualties have been reported in Monday's earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale in Medog County of the Tibet Autonomous Region, despite 13 aftershocks, a county government official said Tuesday.

A preliminary investigation indicates that warehouse has collapsed and a number of buildings have been damaged after the quake which occurred at 17:03 (Beijing Time) on Monday.

As Medog is the only county in China that has no access to highways, relief work is under great pressure, said the official.
