Senior CPC Official Pushes Anti-corruption Work among Party Members

China will tighten its anti-corruption work among Party organs at all levels, said Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

China will tighten its anti-corruption work among Party organs at all levels, said Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Wu made the statement Tuesday during a visit to east China's Jiangsu Province, urging CPC commissions for discipline inspection at all levels to improve their supervision of Party members, and tighten punishment of those violating Party disciplines, to ensure that they work for the people who entrust the power to them.

Wu, also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, stressed that this was especially necessary for leading officials. He admitted that a few Party members in leading positions have violated Party disciplines and laws.

CPC commissions for discipline inspection will push forward the supervision of administrations and government officials to help fight against corruption and improve government efficiency, he said.

The Party watchdogs will also monitor the implementation of laws and regulations by administrations, he added.

Wu urged a stronger sense of political responsibility among Party leaders at all levels in accordance with the requirements of the important thought of Three Represents.
