China Has 480 Million Phone Users

China had 480 million phone users at the end of July, according to statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry.

China had 480 million phone users at the end of July, according to statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry.

Fixed-line subscribers topped 240.75 million, 26.53 million more than the figure at the end of last year and mobile phone subscribers topped 239.45 million, up 33.45 million from the figure at the end of last year, statistics show.

Meanwhile, national postal and telecommunication departments made 292.81 billion yuan (35.28 billion US dollars) in the past seven months, up 14.3 percent year on year.
