A Chinese girl, Ma Li Hua, rewrote the world domino record here on Monday, after toppling 303,000 domino blocks within four and a half minutes at the Singapore Expo.

She bettered the previous record by 15,000 pieces.

It took Ma 42 days to build the huge domino display, including the time to clear the mess after she suffered a major setback caused by insect disruption.

About 10 days ago, over 20,000 blocks fell when cockroaches scrambled across the display area.

"I was very nervous," said Ma in a TV interview on Monday aftersetting the new record.

"Although the dominoes have been built, there were some accidents. So it was a huge relief when the last block fell," she said.
