The six-party talks on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s nuclear issue will be held in Beijing from Aug. 27 to Aug. 29, according to the South Korean Foreign Ministry's announcement on Thursday.

The involved participants of the meeting will be the DPRK, the United States, China, Japan, Russia and South Korea.

"The government welcomes the six-party talks and appreciates efforts by all concerned nations to realize the dialogue," said a spokesman of the Foreign Ministry in the statement.

"Our government hopes the nuclear issue will be solved peacefully through the six-party talks and will make active efforts to procure that result," according to the statement.

The DPRK earlier this month accepted multilateral format to discuss the nuclear issue which was believed different from its previous stance that the nuclear issue can only be talked between the United States and the DPRK.

The DPRK, the United States and China had held tripartite nuclear talks in Beijing in April.
