China used 33.35 billion US dollars of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first seven months of 2003, a rise of 26.63 percent year on year.
Figures released Wednesday by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) show contractual FDI rose by 33.96 percent to 59.17 billion US dollars in the period.
The number of new foreign-funded enterprises increased by 19.3 percent to 22,245 in the first seven months.
A total of 446,441 foreign-funded companies had been set up in China by July 2003.
Actually-used FDI amounted to 481.32 billion US dollars over the past two decades, while contract FDI volume was 887.23 billionUS dollars, MOC figures show.
