Hainan Natural Gas Pipeline Goes into Operation

China National Offshore Oil Corporation said Tuesday it has begun delivering gas to Yangpu and Haikou in the island province of Hainan, through its first onshore natural gas pipeline.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation said Tuesday it has begun delivering gas to Yangpu and Haikou in the island province of Hainan, through its first onshore natural gas pipeline.

The 247-kilometer pipeline will send 800 million cubic meters of natural gas from its Dongfang 1-1 natural gas field to Yangpu and Haikou a year.

Construction of the pipeline started on Oct. 16 last year and involved a total investment of 400 million yuan (48 million US dollars).
