Two US Soldiers Killed in Air Crash in South Korea

A US military plane has crashed in a populated area south of Seoul, the US military says. It said it had no word on whether there were casualties, but a South Korean news agency said the two Americans on board died.

The South Korean crashed light plane was confirmed belonging to US Forces Korea (USFK), according to South Korean Yonhap News Agency on Tuesday.

The C-12 light aircraft crashed in Asan, more than 100 kilometers south to Seoul in South Chungcheong Province, Tuesday at around 2:10 p.m. (0520 GMT), killing two American soldiers on board, reported Yonhap.

The two-seater plane crashed in a field near Inju-myeon as it tried to make an emergency landing, eyewitnesses was quoted as saying.

The bodies of the two soldiers were transferred to a nearby hospital.
