DPRK, China Meet on Six-party Nuclear Talks

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and China have held "comprehensive and in-depth" discussions on the nuclear issue of the DPRK and the forthcoming six-party nuclear talks in Beijing.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and China have held "comprehensive and in-depth" discussions on the nuclear issue of the DPRK and the forthcoming six-party nuclear talks in Beijing.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is here for a visit, met Kim Yong Il, DPRK Deputy Foreign Minister, and Kang Sok Ju, DPRK First Vice Foreign Minister, respectively on Thursday and Friday.

The two sides expressed the hope that the forthcoming six-partynuclear talks to be held in Beijing would unveil prospects for a peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue through dialogue.

They also exchanged views and reached consensus on strengthening the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries.

The Chinese delegation arrived here Thursday and is expected to leave on Saturday.
