At a meeting with visiting Japanese Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Ogi Chikage, Huang welcomed Ogi to visit China on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Sino-Japanese treaty of peace and friendship, saying this year was worth commemorating for both China and Japan.
Huang went on to say that in recent years, non-governmental contacts between the two sides has flourished and tourism had played an active role in such bilateral exchanges.
China hoped the two sides would enhance exchanges, understanding and cooperation, Huang said.
Ogi spoke highly of China's victory over the severe acute respiratory syndrome disease, expressing the hope and belief that contact between China and Japan would increase.
