Palestinian Boy Killed in Central Gaza Strip

A 13-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and four others injured when an explosive device blasted Saturday in a refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said.

A 13-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and four others injured when an explosive device blasted Saturday in a refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said.

Medical officials at Shiffa Hospital in Gaza City said they received the body of Ahmed El Hindi and four wounded kids, two of them in serious conditions.

The boys were killed or wounded when they were playing at anempty area outside the refugee camp of Deir El Ballah, witnesses said.

The Palestinian police rushed to the area and began investigation into the accident, Palestinian security sources said,adding that the explosive device is probably an old mine planted by Israelis to prevent the Palestinian militants from reaching the area, where there is a Jewish settlement.

In another development, two Palestinian militants were wounded in a mysterious blast at Al Amal neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.

The two men were in serious conditions and taken to Nasser Hospital in the town, Palestinian security sources said, addingthat an investigation was underway.
