China's Top Legislator Meets Vietnamese Guests
Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC),met here Friday with a delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by its vice-chairman Truong Quang Duoc.

Wu said China and Vietnam were friendly neighbors. New progresshad made in the development of relations between the two countries and the two parties. The leaders of the two countries had maintained frequent contacts and agreed on the major principles and policies to develop the China-Vietnam relations in the new century.
China and Vietnam had kept close coordination and cooperation in the regional and international affairs and made key achievements in economic and trade cooperation, Wu added.
He said friendly relations would continue to be developed alongthe lines of long-term stability, good neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation.
Wu said Chinese NPC had attached importance to the development of friendly cooperative relations with Vietnamese National Assembly. "We are willing to strengthen the exchange in legislation and supervision with the Vietnamese National Assembly," he said.
Truong Quang Duoc said Vietnamese leaders valued relations withChina, and would promote friendly cooperation according to the guideline established by two countries.
He said the Vietnamese National Assembly had cooperated successfully with China's NPC. He hoped to learn more about China's economic legislation and budget examination.
