Nepal's Landslides, Floods Claim 18 More Lives
At least 18 more people have been confirmed dead during the last 48 hours in separate incidents of landslides and floods in different parts of Nepal, The Kathmandu Post newspaper reported on Saturday.

The death toll from the disasters triggered by incessant rains since Wednesday has exceeded 70, with 20 more people reported missing across the country.
The English daily's report from Tanahu district in western Nepal states that nine people of a single family died in a landslide at Hilekharka village Thursday night. A team of policemen sent to carry out rescue operation there recovered all the bodies from the rubble of the landslide on Friday.
Meanwhile, seven more people were buried to death in landslidesin the central districts of Chitawan and Makawanpur, and two children died in Manakot village of Bajura district in western Nepal.
According to reports from Morang district in eastern Nepal, about 1,000 people are on the verge of displacement when many monsoon-fed rivers entered their villages and breached the farmlands.
Reports from the western district of Banke said as many as 500 houses in Santalia village have been damaged.
The Nepali Home Ministry estimated a total of 46 out of the 75 districts in the country have been affected from floods, landslides and lightning strikes so far since April this year.
During the monsoon season every year in the Himalayan kingdom, hundreds of people died and thousands of families were affected due to landslides and floods. More than 440 people died from such kind of disasters last year.
