Two civil affairs vehicles of US forces were under attack by remote control bombs on Thursday near the Afghan capital, a US military press release said.

The two-car convoy was about 26 kilometers southwest of Kabul on the way to a school project when it was hit by the improvised explosive devices at around 10 a.m. local time, said the press release issued by the US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Three separate explosive devices apparently activated by remotecontrol struck both vehicles, it said, adding that one vehicle was disabled in the attack but no personnel were wounded.

In another incident, US military police opened fire on Thursdayafternoon at an Afghan taxi in a highway on the eastern outskirts of Kabul, wounding three Afghan males.

A US soldier fired into the taxi with an M-16 rifle when it refused to slow down after the soldiers attempted to wave off the taxi, which was aggressively approaching the MP vehicles, the press release said.

The taxi struck the rear of an MP vehicle later when the MP vehicle stopped.

Two Afghans wounded in the incident were taken to a hospital ofthe peacekeeping troops in the city and the third victim was treated at the scene, according to the press release.
