Ten Drug Dealers Captured in East China City

Police in Nanchang, capital city of east China's Jiangxi province, have captured 10 drug dealers who allegedly sold a total of 15,000 ecstasy pills and four kilograms of "king power", a new kind of drug prevalent in China.

The police said that they discovered early this month that a man, nicknamed Shitou or "Stone", and a woman, named Liao Ying were in control of drug supply at some recreation centers in the city.

Further investigation showed that Yang Rufei, a man from Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province, and Yang Xiangbao, a man from neighboring Hubei province, supplied drugs toShitou and Liao.

The police caught Yang Xiangbao and Liao at a hotel in Nanchangon July 25, and seized Yang Rufei at a long-distance bus station in the city when Yang walked out, carrying drugs he was believed to have been intending to sell to Shitou.

After the confession of Yang Xiangbao and Yang Rufei, the police hunted down the remaining members of the drug gang, confiscating 2,500 ecstasy pills and over one kilogram of "king powder".

The police said the drug dealers had conducted nine such deals,making profits of more than 200,000 yuan (some 24,000 US dollars).

Further questioning and investigation was under way, said police.
