Star-studded Real Madrid arrived here for their pre-season training after a twelve and a half hours grueling flight from Madrid on Friday.
The nine-time European champions took the Malaysia Airlines plane, which landed at noon in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.
Over 6,000 fans flocked to the airport to get a glimpse of the stars they admire, such as David Beckham, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos,Zinedine Zidane, Gonzalez Raul and Luis Figo.
"I saw him, I saw him," a girl cried in tears when Beckham stepped out of the plane. "This is the first time I saw him in person," the girl yelled.
The main city roads had been cut off to make way for the players who were offered garlands by young ladies upon their arrival.
"It is fantastic to see so many people gathering here to welcome us," Raul said. "I hope our journey to China can bring them funs."
After settling down, the team took the medical advice to hold alight warming-up workout in order to overcome the jet-lag.
This is also the first official training for Beckham with Real Madrid teammates after he transferred from Manchester United of England.
Real Madrid will stay here training until July 31 when they flyto Beijing for an exhibition match against China Dragons team on August 2nd.
