Typhoon 'Imbodu' Approaches Southern China

Tropical storm "Imbodu" is approaching southern China and is expected to strike the coast of Guangdong Province Wednesday night and Thursday, said the Central Meteorological Station (CMS) on Tuesday.

Tropical storm "Imbodu" is approaching southern China and is expected to strike the coast of Guangdong Province Wednesday night and Thursday, said the Central Meteorological Station (CMS) on Tuesday.

The intense storm will bring heavy rains to wide areas of southern China, said the CMS.

Typhoon "Koni" struck southernmost China's Hainan Province at 6:35 p.m. Monday and moved off the island early Tuesday morning after raging through five cities and counties in the province, according to a typhoon alert issued by the CMS.
