Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Monday that he hoped the trade volume between China and Britain could reach 15 billion US dollars in the future three to five years.

Wen made the remarks when meeting with British entrepreneurs. He said the trade cooperation between China and Britain has a great potential.

The trade volume between the two countries reached 11.3 billionUS dollars last year and the target of 15 billion US dollars is probably a conservative figure, Wen said.

He said so far Britain has invested over 10 billion US dollars in China, topping the list of all the European countries and the biggest foreign project in China is also from the British Petroleum and Royal Dutch/Shell Group in Britain.

The Sino-British economic and trade relations, already with a good development momentum, will have a brighter future, he said.
