Commercial Bank Sets up Postdoctoral Research Bureau

The Industrial and Commercial Bankof China (ICBC) set up a postdoctoral work office here Friday, which is the first such station launched by a state-owned commercial bank.

The Industrial and Commercial Bankof China (ICBC) set up a postdoctoral work office here Friday, which is the first such station launched by a state-owned commercial bank.

A spokesman for the ICBC said that six doctors out of 50 applicants have been selected to work in the office after a seriesof tests, interviews and expert appraisal.

He said the move aimed to research financial system reforms, banking system innovation, commercial banks' major changes during transitional periods and the management techniques of modern commercial banks.

The program also aimed to foster and attract high-quality personnel, he said.

The office has set up cooperative relations with Beijing University, the People's University of China, Fudan University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other renowned universities and institutions, and has invited a number of famous experts and scholars as tutors.
