The water level of Hongze Lake on the lower reaches of the Huaihe River has been dropping steadily over the past two days, according to the flood control headquarters of east China's Jiangsu Province.
According to a briefing issued by the headquarters Wednesday, the water level at the Jiangba hydrologic station on Hongze Lake had dropped to 14.23 meters by 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, down 0.06 meters from the previous day.
