KCNA Refutes Japanese Lawmaker's Provocative Remarks
Japanese reactionaries are revitalizing national militarism and fascism by spreading lies that go against history, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary released Wednesday after a Japanese lawmaker's remarks.
Japanese reactionaries are revitalizing national militarism and fascism by spreading lies that go against history, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary released Wednesday after a Japanese lawmaker's remarks.
Takami Eto, of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), onSaturday claimed at his party's charter meeting that the annexation of Korea in 1910 was lawful as it had been approved by the United Nations -- a body that did not come into existence until the end of World War II. These words were vehemently rejected by Seoul and Koreans overseas.
"It is common sense that Japanese imperialists' military occupation of the Korean Peninsula is not recognized by the UN, and their massacre of the Korean People is an historic fact that can never by written off," said the commentary.
"Eto's words are not only nonsense of a neurotic, but a reflection of the political tendency of the Japanese government," the commentary stressed.
Japanese reactionaries were trying to deny the history of its colonization of the Korean Peninsula and revitalize militarism by justifying the military occupation of the Korean Peninsula, it said.
The Japanese reactionaries should bear in mind that their speeches promoting militarism and fascism were doomed to failure, the KCNA warned.
