Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on Tuesday said without the efforts of Egypt, the Palestinians would never reach a Hudna (ceasefire) with Israel.
Arafat made the remarks to reporters following a meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's envoy Omar Suleiman at his headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas also attended the meeting which was described as "fruitful and encouraging" by Palestinian officials.
Arafat said the efforts of all parties -- the Palestinians, Arableaders, the United States, Europe, Russia and China -- would continue to guarantee the accurate implementation of the roadmap peace plan.
During the talks, Palestinian officials and Suleiman discussed every detail of the developments linked to the roadmap leading to an independent Palestinian state by 2005, Arafat told reporters after the meeting.
