Water Level of China's Huaihe River Drops

The water level of the Huaihe River has been dropping in its middle reaches as the flood crest flows downstream.

The water level of the Huaihe River has been dropping in its middle reaches as the flood crest flows downstream.

According to the Huaihe River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, water level at Runheji and Zhengyangguan had droppedbelow the warning lines Monday.

In contrast, water level of the Hongze Lake in the lower reaches has been rising.

Jiangsu Province, in the lower reaches of the river, has taken measures to facilitate the river's water flow to the sea.

Still, the Huaihe River flood control headquarters urged all localities along the river to keep high vigilance to safeguard thesafety of the embankments.
