China's Yellow River Expects Heavy Rains in Mid-July

The lower reaches of China's Yellow River valley, northwestern Shaanxi Province and the southwestern Sichuan Basin will see heavy rainfalls of 90 to 160 millimeters a day in mid-July.

The lower reaches of China's Yellow River valley, northwestern Shaanxi Province and the southwestern Sichuan Basin will see heavy rainfalls of 90 to 160 millimeters a day in mid-July.

Some of these areas may even suffer torrential rains up to 200 millimeters per day, according to sources from the Central Meteorological Station (CMS).

CMS forecasts show China's major precipitation zone will move over regions of northwest China, north China, the Huaihe-Yellow River areas, the Hanshui River valley and southwest China with an average daily rainfall of 40 to 80 millimeters.

The daily precipitation in some areas will reach 20 to 50 millimeters from July 12 to 15, and then decline from July 16 to 20, according to the forecast.
