Inspection Squads to Patrol Embankment of Huaihe River

Anhui Province in east China will send inspection squads to supervise the flood control work along the Huaihe River, according to the Anhui Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

Anhui Province in east China will send inspection squads to supervise the flood control work along the Huaihe River, according to the Anhui Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

The inspections will mainly focus on the implementation of flood-combating schemes, storage of disaster-relief materials, evacuation and settlement of victims and distribution of relief funds.

Any individual and department who purposefully violates the rule set by the province's discipline inspection committee of the Communist Party of China will be punished seriously and relevant violations will be corrected without delay.

On Monday, an emergency notice was issued by the committee, requiring tightened supervision on flood control work along the Huaihe River.

Earlier, four people were disciplined for dereliction of duty in the ongoing flood control work at the Yinkou Sluice Gate on theHuaihe River Valley.
