More than 400,000 experts from foreign countries and regions are coming to work in China every year, while over 40,000 Chinese go abroad for training or education programs, Tuesday's People's Daily reports.
Only 600 Chinese people were lucky enough to make similar tours 20 years ago.
According to the report, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs has established cooperative ties in terms of human resources exchanges with more than 300 international organizations, prestigious universities and non-governmental organizations.
The overseas experts coming to China are engaged in industry, agriculture, science and technology, law, financial services, commerce, major projects and public administration, compared with production, education, and media and publication before.
In the past, foreign experts were only invited to work in the country's major cities and economically developed coastal regions. They are now invited to work in all provinces of the Chinese mainland.
Zhang Jinfu, president of China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, said in an article that as free exchanges of capital, technologies and human resources are becoming increasingly common worldwide, China will face new challenges and opportunities in inviting foreign experts to work in China.
