Beijing to Unveil 2008 Olympic Emblem in August
Beijing organizers will unveil the emblem for the 2008 Olympic Games in early August, a top official of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympics (BOCOG) announced Monday.

"The emblem is to be unveiled early next month in Beijing," BOCOG vice president Jiang Xiaoyu told a press conference.
The IOC gave its approval to the emblem for the 2008 Games in March. The unveiling of the emblem, which was originally scheduledfor May 25, was postponed due to the outbreak of SARS.
"The Market Plan Agreement (MPA) will be officially launched in September," Jiang added.
The MPA, which covers all marketing activities concerning the 2008 Games, was signed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on June 30.
The inaugural Olympic Culture Festival, previously scheduled for late June in the Chinese capital, will also be held in September, according to Jiang.
