China's leading newspaper, the People's Daily, is to run an editorial Wednesday on the call by top Chinese leader Hu Jintao for the Communist Party of China (CPC)and the whole nation to launch a new wave of study and implementation of the important thought of Three Represents.

The editorial hails as of overall and strategic importance the speech delivered Tuesday by Hu, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at a symposium on "Three Represents".

The editorial describes the "Three Represents" thought as creating a new outlook of the development of the Marxism, saying that upholding the banner of the "Three Represents" means in essence upholding the Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory.

In implementing the "Three Represents" thought, the CPC should dedicate itself to the interests of the public and govern for the people's benefit, the editorial says.

It urges all Party members and the people to well study and carry out the important thought of Three Represents so as to make new progress in the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.
