Zhang Jilong, vice-chairman of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and deputy secretary-general of the organizing committee for 2003 Women World Cup, revealed that the Chinese Football Association had submitted a summary report of the final work of the Women World Cup to the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) on June 18. In the report, CFA defined that the total expense of the four hosting cities and the organizing committee was US$ 920,000 by the final financial accounts.
According to the information provided by the four hosting cities, the overall input for the preparatory work of the Women World Cup was 89.52 million yuan (about US$ 1.1 million) prior to May 3. After finishing its month-long check-up and clearing of the materials on July 18, the organizing committee formally submitted the financial report to FIFA, in which the expenditure of the four hosting cities and the organizing committee came to US$920,000 (about RMB7.6 million). According to Zhang Jilong, This sum of money is the real economic losses incurred in hosting the Women World Cup. Other investment is used to construct and improve the hardware facilities which are "our asset", not losses. The financial committee under FIFA studied it on June 20 after receiving the report. Zhang Jilong expresses that after the Financial Committee's research result comes out, CFA will release it to society.
