Chinese Football Association claims US$920,000 from FIFA
Zhang Jilong revealed that Chinese Football Association had submitted the summary report of the final work of the Women World Cup to Federation International Football Association (FIFA) on June 18. In the report, CFA defined that the total expense of the four hosting cities and the organizing committee was USD 920,000 by financial accounts.
Zhang Jilong, vice chairman of Chinese Football Association (CFA) and deputy secretary-general of the organizing committee of 2003 Women World Cup, revealed that Chinese Football Association had submitted the summary report of the final work of the Women World Cup to Federation International Football Association (FIFA) on June 18.
In the report, CFA defined that the total expense of the four hosting cities and the organizing committee was USD 920,000 by financial accounts.
According to the information reported by the four hosting cities, the overall investment of the preparatory work of the Women World Cup was 89.52 million yuan (about USD 1,100.000) prior to May 3.
The organizing committee spent one month in finishing the check-up and clearing of the materials on July 18 and officially submitted the financial report to FIFA, in which the expenditure of the four hosting cities and the organizing committee was determined as USD 920,000 (about RMB 7,600,000 yuan).
According to Zhang Jilong, such USD 920,000 is the real economic losses to host the Women World Cup, and other investment is used to construct and improve the hardware facilities which are "our asset" instead of losses.
The financial Committee under FIFA studied it on June 20 after receiving the report. Zhang Jilong expresses that CFA will publicize it to the society after the Financial Committee's research result comes out.
