Musharraf, Bush to Discuss Resumption of Pak-India Peace Talks: Foreign Secretary

Pakistani Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokar Tuesday said main focus of meeting between President Pervez Musharraf and George W. Bush would be to discuss regional issues mainly resumption of peace talks between Pakistan and India.

Pakistan was ready to discuss every matter specifically to develop and enhance bilateral relationship between the two countries, the Associated Press of Pakistan quoted him as saying.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf who arrived in Washington on the second leg of his four-nation tour will meet President Bush at Camp David on Tuesday.

Reiterating Pakistan's stance over nuclear program, the foreign secretary said, "Our nuclear assets are absolutely in safe hands as all possible measures have been taken for the protection."

Commenting on the conversion of Line of Control into permanent border, he said, "US never asked us to declare it as a border."

Khokar termed such type of statements irresponsible, which he said were based on the speculations.
