China remains a healthy, safe and attractive destination for tourists from abroad, said an official with the China National Tourist Administration (CNTA).
China remains a healthy, safe and attractive destination for tourists from abroad, said an official with the China National Tourist Administration (CNTA).
The lifting of travel advisory on all Chinese cities by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday constitutes a turning point for the recovery of China's tourism, said the official.
Despite the impact of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) on China's tourism, the CNTA has worked out a series of careful arrangements for the recovery of tourism. Tourism will contribute more to national economic and social development.
The outbreak of SARS had a negative impact on tourism in Asia as well as in China. During the SARS peak period, the CNTA adopted a series of decisive measures to prevent SARS transmission through traveling, the official said.
