Chinese Mainland Reports No New SARS Cases (June 23)

The Chinese mainland reported no new SARS cases and no new deaths from the disease between 10:00 a.m. June 22 and 10:00 a.m. June 23, the Ministry of Health said Monday.

Chinese Ministry of Health Monday reported neither new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases nor new deaths from the disease on the Chinese mainland for the 24 hours from 10:00 a.m. June 22 to 10:00 a.m. June 23.

During the past 24 hours, the Chinese mainland reported no new suspected SARS cases, either.

In the meantime, 20 SARS patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery. All of them were from Beijing.

As of 10:00 a.m. June 23, the number of SARS patients hospitalized on the Chinese mainland dropped to 77, and the numberof hospitalized suspected SARS patients remained at 23, according to the ministry.
