Hamas Leader Killed by Israeli Troops in Hebron

Israeli soldiers Saturday shot and killed a senior official of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas in the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian security sources said.

Israeli soldiers Saturday shot and killed a senior official of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas in the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian security sources said.

Abdullah Qawasmeh, a Hamas leader in the West Bank, was killed by Israeli troops who went to arrest him in Hebron, the sourcesaid.

Witnesses said Israeli troops cordoned off the area where the shooting took place.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
