A working group composed of 12 experts from the World Health organization (WHO) and officials from the Chinese Ministry of Health, Thursday visited Bayannur League (prefecture) in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In Bayannur League, the experts visited the local epidemic prevention station, a hospital at the league level and a SARS emergency treatment center.
After inspecting the center, Dr. Yvonne de Main, one of the experts, praised medical workers there for their outstanding work.
Dr. Karin Giesecke, another expert with the group, showed much interest in the measures taken by the hospital and made detailed inquiries.
Dr. De Main also gave a lecture to local medical workers on SARS prevention and control on Thursday evening.
The experts arrived in Inner Mongolia Tuesday for a 10-day visit to inspect local SARS control and treatment work.
The WHO lifted last Friday travel warnings against Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia.
