China's Economic Growth Rate will not Fall below 7 Percent: Official

China's National Bureau of Statistics says the overall economic situation has not been affected by SARS and the country can maintain its forecasted growth rate of 7 percent.

China's National Bureau of Statistics says the overall economic situation has not been affected by SARS and the country can maintain its forecasted growth rate of 7 percent.

Speaking at a forum in Fuzhou, the bureau's deputy director Qiu Xiaohua says SARS hasn't had much of an impact on major sectors of China's economic life.

Foreign trade and investment saw continuous growth during the first five months of this year while finance and retail prices remain stable.
