The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ended its 36th Ministerial Meeting in Phnom Penh Tuesday.
The two-day closed-door meeting has reviewed progress in implementation of the organization's common programs, particularly progress in the region's economic integration -- building up free trade area, in-bloc balanced development, frameworks for an economic community.
Under the theme "Towards an ASEAN Economic Community -- Integrated and Outward-Looking," the meeting also looked into regional security issues and cooperation with the dialogue partners.
Foreign ministers from the 10 ASEAN members and secretary-general attended the meeting.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen made a keynote speech at the opening session on Monday.
Before the meeting started, the foreign ministers and the secretary-general paid a courtesy call on Hun Sen Monday.
The meeting will be followed by 10th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF)Wednesday, and Post-Ministerial Conferences (PMC) Thursday.
