Chinese Mainland Reports No New SARS Cases (July 16)
The Chinese mainland reported no new SARS cases and one new death from the disease between 10:00 a.m. June 15 and 10:00 a.m. June 16, the Ministry of Health said Monday.
Chinese Ministry of Health (MOH) Monday reported no new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) case, no new suspect SARS case and one new death from the disease on the Chinese mainland for the 24 hours from 10:00 a.m. June 15 to 10:00 a.m. June 16.
The death was reported in Beijing, according to the ministry.
During the period, 42 SARS patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery, including 38 in Beijing and two each in Shanxi Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
As of 10:00 a.m. June 16, the number of SARS patients hospitalized on the Chinese mainland reduced to 317, and the number of hospitalized suspect SARS patients on the Chinese mainland remained at 50, according to the MOH.
