Tropical Storm 'Soudelor' to Hit Taiwan Straits
Tropical storm "Soudelor," the sixth this year, will strike the Taiwan Straits and the eastern coast of Taiwan Province, according to the Central Meteorological Station Monday.

Soudelor emerged from the northwestern Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines last Friday, and by Sunday, had evolved into an extratropical cyclone.
By 8 a.m. Monday, the eye of Soudelor was located at 16.8 degrees north latitude and 124.8 degrees east longitude, with storms near the epicenter. It is forecast to move northward at a speed of about 18 kilometers per hour, gaining intensity as it moves along its northward path.
The storm will generate moderate gales to whole gales which will affect the Taiwan Straits, Taiwan's eastern coast and the waters east of the province during Monday and Tuesday, with stormsor hurricanes near the center.
